Solar energy is a growing, healthy industry in Alberta. It is more profitable than ever to put a solar PV system on your home or business and sell excess power to the utility grid.  You can purchase or lease a system for your house.  If you are renting or have property without solar access, you still have options. You can invest in a system in your neighborhood via a solar investment co-op. Read more about The Solar Opportunity—Small Scale Investment Options

Feb 10 2016 - 9:00pm to 10:00pm
Feb 11 2016 - 1:00am to 2:00am

From the City of Edmonton website:

We are partnering with Alberta Ecotrust to deliver environmental grants to help support energy literate citizens with energy conserving lifestyles and a strong shift to active and public transportation.

We believe these grants, available to non-profits, community leagues, schools and charities, will engage Edmontonians to work on these challenges and provide them with support to collaborate and to create positive environmental change in their own backyards.

The focus will be on community projects that help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Examples of neighbourhood projects include:

  • Walking school bus
  • Installation of solar panels on a community facility
  • Tool-lending library

You must attend one of the learning sessions to apply for the grants.
