Charles L. Caccia, 1930-2008
On May 3rd, Charles Caccia, a well-respected politician and environmentalist, passed away at the age of 78. Most recently a senior fellow at the University of Ottawa's Institute for the Environment, Mr. Caccia represented the Toronto riding of Davenport between 1968 and 2004 and spent a large part of his career working to protect the environment and promoting social justice issues. He also had a long association with the RCEN, working together with its members on key files and attending many caucus and Network meetings. A moving tribute to Mr. Caccia can be read on the Canadian Environmental Law Association's website.
