Edmonton Urban Lake Survey

Life in the city can make us forget about our impact on the environment. With parking lots, sidewalks, manicured lawns, roads and stormwater collection systems forming an artificial landscape we may not recognize we're part of the natural world. The reality is our actions in the city have a direct impact on the environment, particularly stormwater and our urban lakes.

Urban Lake Living - Healthy Communities, Healthy Lakes is an exciting new initiative of the Federation of Alberta Naturalists.

Urban Lake Living provides residents of lake communities with information and resources on how to keep their urban lake healthy. With knowledge and action, residents within these communities will help reduce sources of water pollution for the betterment of their property, their community, their local urban lake and the greater watershed area including the North Saskatchewan River.

Urban Lake Living is conducting an online survey (February 1- April 31, 2008) to poll residents of urban lake communities in Edmonton about their yards and outdoor neighborhood activities. The information collected in the survey will be used to design future educational materials for the Urban Lake Living: Healthy Communities, Healthy Lakes project.

Each participant who completes the survey will be entered into a weekly draw during the length of the survey for a $25 gift certificate and a final grand prize draw for an 8GB Apple Ipod Nano music player. Please follow the link below and complete the survey.
