CPANS Luncheon: Industrial Heartland Cumulative Effects Management

<div class="flexinode-body flexinode-1"><div class="flexinode-textarea-1"><div class="form-item"> <label>Description: </label> <p><a href="http://www.cpans.org">Air &amp; Waste Management Association<br />Canadian Prairie and Northern Section</a></p><h3>About the Presentation</h3><p>Industrial Heartland Cumulative Effects Management: As part of its work in responding to the cumulative impact of industrial development in the province, the Alberta government has announced an air emissions limit for NO<sub>X</sub> and SO<sub>2</sub> for the Industrial Heartland and Strathcona refinery areas. Shannon Flint will be describing the process by which these limits were arrived at and the work that is underway in designing a regulatory system to ensure that the limits are adhered to.</p><h3>About the Presenter</h3><p>Shannon Flint is Director of Strategic Policy and Innovation with the Oil Sands Environmental Management Division in Alberta Environment. Prior to joining the Division, Shannon played a key role in bringing forward the Province&#39;s Climate Change and Emissions Management Act and associated regulations. She has held previous positions in Government looking at trade policy, royalty policy and revenue forecasting. She has also worked in the research area heading up the Carbon and Energy Management unit at the Alberta Research Council. She holds a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge.</p><h3>About the Luncheon</h3><p>The luncheon is scheduled for Monday November 19th. The luncheon will follow the usual format of a buffet lunch, and I am accepting reservations from now until noon, Friday November 16th at 3pm. I cannot accept reservations after this date.
