Royal Roads University Workshop leader: Dr. Richard Kool, Associate ProfessorEnvironmental Education & Communication Program Dr. Kool will lead presentations on a set of three themes:

  • "Nature Deficit Disorder": what do we know about how children connect with nature and what we can do to encourage that connection.
  • Hope and despair in environmental education and communication: the psychological impact of the language that we use.
  • Changing Behaviours: the use of persuasive communication and the power of social norms.
