The Fair Trade Forum - Calgary


The Centre for Public Interest Accounting (CPIA), Development Studies Club, International Centre, the Latin American Research Centre and the Students’ Union are pleased to sponsor a public forum to examine the meaning, context and challenges of fair trade as well the roles of international organizations.Questions such as: “What is fair trade?”, “How is fair trade benefiting small producers in low-income nations?”, “Is fair trade setting new social and ethical standards in trade?”, and “Who benefits from fair trade?” will be addressed.This forum brings together universities, involved institutions, non-profit organizations and the general public to discuss, debate and ultimately move forward with this timely and important topic.Date: Thursday, November 23, 2006Place: Great Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary Time: 9 am to 5 pmPlease visit for program & details.
