Job Opportunity: Just Transition Lead, Indigenous Climate Action

Reporting to the Director of Programs and the Executive Director of ICA, the Just Transition Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing Just Transition campaigns on behalf of ICA.

The primary responsibility of the Just Transition Lead will be to build out training programs based off of our Just Transition Guide, support and implement renewable energy projects with community partners, and nurture strategic relationships to advance the values that are critical for Indigenous energy sovereignty.

The position requires demonstrated competency in the following areas:

  • education and training for Just Transition work i.e. solar electrician, wind technician, electrical engineer, energy justice, renewable energy, Catalyst 20/20 program etc.;
  • community engagement and project management within Indigenous communities; 
  • implementation of renewable energy projects is a strong asset;
  • knowledge of renewable energy policy and the clean energy sector; and
  • ability to speak publicly about Just Transition, renewable energy and climate justice.
