About the AEN

The Alberta Environmental Network (AEN) connects Albertans and environmental groups that are dedicated to preserving and protecting Alberta’s environment. As a non-profit and non-partisan organization, the AEN supports collaboration of the environmental community throughout the province.

Learn more about the Alberta Environmental Network.

Connecting Alberta’s environmental groups

We are a network of individuals and groups working together on shared concerns. AEN members include individuals and representatives from member groups that connect, collaborate and share information.

The AEN is a link between the environmental community and government, industry, the media and all Albertans.

Join the network

Albertans and environmental groups are welcome to join the AEN as members – there are memberships for both individuals and groups. Members contribute to preserving and protecting Alberta’s environment by sharing information and collaborating on shared issues. Learn more about becoming a member of the AEN.

The AEN supports an inclusive and diverse environmental community for all Albertans.

Promoting Pollution Prevention

The best way to protect our environment is to prevent pollution before it occurs. The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) wants to recognize and celebrate the innovative ways companies and organizations across Canada are practicing pollution prevention. Submissions for the 2006 CCME Pollution Prevention Awards are now being accepted. The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2005.

More information about the awards program and how to apply can be found at http://www.ccme.ca/whatsnew/index.html or www.c2p2online.com/CPPR. Read More

Program Overview

YEN is helping to deliver the OTC (see www.climatechange.gc.ca/onetonne/) in a youth-friendly format by supporting, reinforcing and networking youth organizations across Canada in their youth public awareness and education campaigns on climate change issues. As a result, youth in their communities will be encouraged to make life-long commitments to environmentally sustainable behaviour while the OTC-delivering organisations (that could be you!!!) will have more prominent, successful and effective campaigns.
