Government of Alberta Releases Weak Range Plan for the Little Smoky Herd
In June of 2016, the Government of Alberta released the draft Range Plan for the Little Smoky Caribou Herd. Comments are due on this range plan by August 5 — join CPAWS Northern Alberta to have your say!

The Threat
Business As Usual In Alberta

This range plan allows forestry and oil and gas activities to continue inside the herd's range - a range that is over 95% disturbed by seismic lines, roads, pipelines, well pads, and forestry cut blocks!

CPAWS Northern Alberta would like to see habitat protection included as a key action for caribou protection in the Little Smoky range.
