Passive House Design & Construction Training Course

September 12, 2011 - 6:00am to September 16, 2011 - 6:00am

Join us for our 2011 Passive House Training Course in Calgary, AB September 12-16, 2011.  Each course is a challenging and intensive full week of instruction, and is aimed at Canadian building professionals who have a passion to learn the art of Passive House design, the world’s leading standard in low‐energy, sustainable construction. This is the only course in North America based on the 2010 international Passive House training program (CEPH). We work in collaboration with the Passivhaus Institut in Germany, the world authority on this type of construction, and with the international Passive House community.

Our instructors form the most experienced Passive House design team in North America, with more than 20 years of hands-on project design and construction behind them. With excellent feedback and evaluations from our previous course participants (click here to read feedback comments), we've continued to develop and improve our training program to ensure it reflects the current reality of Canadian designers and builders, especially with regard to Building Code issues, up‐to‐date component supplier information and Passive House-suitable wood framing details.

We’ll offer you post‐course technical support during the planning stages of your first Certified Passive House building, as well as putting you in touch with a growing national network of component suppliers.

Our aim is to give you the knowledge and tools you need to design and build Passive Houses in all parts of Canada today – that means an 80 to 90% reduction in annual heating and cooling energy (compared to conventional construction) without the need for expensive renewable energy systems.
