Earth Matters: an environmental education conference

April 24, 2014 - 6:00am to April 26, 2014 - 6:00am

A conference to help you develop your community of practice - and explore how the Earth Matters to you.

With Ziya Tong, host of Planet Earth
and Gordon Stenhouse, Grizzly Bear expert

Join us this Spring in the Rocky Mountains! We’ll provide inspirational speakers, relevant workshops, and ample opportunities for you to work with other educators and create or develop a community of practice that is directly relevant to your work – because the ‘Earth Matters.’

Our 37 fabulous workshops will highlight the remarkable talents, teaching, programs, and accomplishments of environmental educators from across Alberta.
These are just a taste of what you’ll find at this year’s Earth Matters Conference:

  • Waste Education: ideas for the classroom and workplace.
  • Oil Sands Education Dialogue: explore approaches to teaching and learning about this complex and contentious issue.
  • A number of outdoor workshops will add to your outdoor teaching toolkit, and give you a chance to appreciate the mountain scenery first hand.

On April 24, consider attending our Pre-conference session:  Weaving inquiry learning and the new curriculum into your environmental education program and teaching. The cost is $30.00 and includes lunch. Details are on the main conference page (below).
