Bighorn Ram Ridge Hike

July 20, 2019 - 10:00am

Offering breathtaking views of the Foothills to the east and the Ram River Valley, Ram Ridge is a wonderful piece of wilderness within Bighorn Country. The lush meadows below the exposed ridge provide the canvas for many beautiful wildflowers, and provide habitat for Bighorn sheep, grizzly bears, elk and countless bird species such as yellow-rumped warblers and spruce grouse. The Bighorn Country is an integral part of Alberta’s wilderness, serving as a migration corridor for many wildlife species, and is critical to the headwater security for the North Saskatchewan River.

Join AWA Conservation Specialist Joanna Skrajny and Heinz Unger as they hike along sheep trails within the beautiful Bighorn Country, and with some luck, there might be some glimpses of ewes and lambs!
