The Alberta Water Council (AWC) has been tasked with tracking implementation of the Alberta Water for Life strategy, a province-wide approach to the protection of watersheds in Alberta. The Council comprises 24 Members organized into four broad categories—Industry, Non-Government Organizations, Government, and the Government of Alberta and Provincial Authorities. Call for Delegate: Water for Life Implementation Review Committee

One of the Alberta Water Council (AWC)’s primary goals is to periodically review and provide advice on the implementation progress of Water for Life. The AWC has achieved this through the work of a  standing committee, which convenes every few years to review progress and provide strategic,  directional advice to AWC members. Since 2008, the committee has operated under a standing Terms  of Reference and companion “how-to” guide (see below). The Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA) is a multi-stakeholder organization made up of representatives of industry, government, and environmental organizations which develops and recommends strategies to assess and improve air quality in Alberta. Detailed information on CASA is available on their website.

CASA is governed by a board of directors who are appointed by their sectors in accordance with the principle of sectoral self-selection. There are six ENGO representatives on the CASA board; nominally three Directors and three Alternates, with Alternates having the same participation rights as the primary Directors.
