Board of Directors
Application Deadline:

The Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA) is a multi-stakeholder organization made up of representatives of industry, government, and environmental organizations which develops and recommends strategies to assess and improve air quality in Alberta. Detailed information on CASA is available on their website.

CASA is governed by a board of directors who are appointed by their sectors in accordance with the principle of sectoral self-selection. There are six ENGO representatives on the CASA board; nominally three Directors and three Alternates, with Alternates having the same participation rights as the primary Directors.

The AEN selects Directors and Alternates in a staggered fashion. The terms of the current Alternates expire at the end of December, and a new slate of Alternates will be selected to serve a three-year term from January 2019 to December 2021. Current Alternates are welcome to apply to serve another term—there are no term limits.

The terms of the current Directors will expire in December 2019.

Time Commitment:

The CASA Board holds three full-day meetings each year. Applicants should also expect to allocate some time for meeting preparation and followup, including participation in periodic teleconferences and meetings of the CASA NGO Caucus, and AEN Clean Air & Energy Caucus. Directors are also expected to serve on board committees.

Expenses & Honoraria:

Per diem Honoraria and reimbursement of travel expenses are available from CASA in accordance with their stakeholder support policy.
