The recent recommendations from Premier Stelmach's Royalty Review Panel represent a step forward for the province of Alberta. We need your help to ensure that Premier Stelmach implements the recommendations put forward by the Royalty Review Panel. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

  2. Think like an owner.
  3. Insist that Premier Stelmach adopts all the royalty recommendations made by the Royalty Review Panel.

Call for Comments - EUB Directive 050: Drilling Waste Management

On September 10, 2007 the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) issued Bulletin 2007-31: Invitation for Comment - Draft Revision of Directive 050: Drilling Waste Management. The Bulletin identifies how to obtain a copy of the draft revision and how to provide feedback on it. Bulletin 2007-31 is available on the EUB Web site at www.eub.ca under Industry Zone: Rules, Regulations, Requirements: Bulletins. The draft revision is also available for review on the EUB Web site at www.eub.ca under Industry Zone: Rules, Regulations, Requirements: Directives.

The draft revision will remain posted on the EUB Web site until October 31, 2007, and comments will be accepted until October 31, 2007. Comments received will be taken into consideration when finalizing the revision to Directive 050. Read More

Call for Comments: Proposed Oilfield Waste Liability Program

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board has issued Bulletin (2007-28) calling for comments on their Proposed Oilfield Waste Liability (OWL) Program and Changes to the Licensee Liability Rating Program.

The draft directive is available on the EUB website www.eub.ca under Industry Zone: Rules Regulations and Requirements: Directives for review and feedback.

New Website Uncovers Alberta's 'Dirty Secrets'

Albertans worried about how their public resources and lands are being managed now have a way to document their concerns. The Federation of Alberta Naturalists and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society Northern Alberta have been made aware of a new website that offers to post information on the destructive practices of industry in Alberta. The site is called Alberta's Dirty Secrets (http://www.albertasdirtysecret.com/) and serves as a moderated open forum for the posting of information and personal stories documenting the impacts of forestry and oil and gas activities, on the landscapes of Alberta.
